Futurama Space Pilot 3000 – Frozen To the Future

The film, Futurama, gives a view of what’s in the society in the year 3000 in this first pilot episode. A pizza delivery boy named Fry is the protagonist, who has been cryogenically frozen, wakes up at the year 3000 and his adventure continues on. The show’s take on future and science is somewhat similar to what we expect the future to be – hovering cars, abundant human interacting robots, and far advanced technology. The film also showcases the assignment of one’s standing in society given at birth which I find is wrong. Another one I could recall that I find wrong is the Suicide Machine, where you can commit suicide in any way you like. Although we find many things becoming wireless hence we predict that in the very late future, almost everything may become wireless, however in this film showcased the still importance of wires. What I find fascinating in the film’s take on society is the way transportation is made convenient and timely. The society, generally in this film, showcases different races from what I predicted and also modifications of the human body. There is also a museum of heads of very iconic persons that made history that can still interact with others. It is good that there are still cops that apprehend violators. Life in this time period may be more convenient and advanced however you may live not the way you would like to because of the way the “machine” destined you to be in the society.
The concept of time travelling presented here in the video is where you are frozen in your present state and be unfrozen in after some time and you are still in the state when you were frozen when you wake up. However, the concept of time travelling backwards was not presented in the video. The concept of time travelling forward here is you preserve your body state until the time you desire to be awaken be your body state be unfrozen. I think this may not be possible, considering the evidence of frozen mammoths, saber-toothed tigers, and others present in the Ice Age.
