The Gdayx (Google DayX) Philippines, an event supported by Google, Smart and Xavier School was held on the 23rd of November 2013 at the Angelo King Multi-Purpose Center, Xavier School. This whole day event focused on informing and inspiring future or current business owners and student and entrepreneurs on the latest business technologies and
I was able to attend three sessions, namely (1) Google Places and Mapping for Business; (2) Blogging for business; and (3) Introduction to Google Analytics, in the afternoon. The first talk was given by Mr. JR Padilla from Google Developer Group (GDG) Dagupan, the second was by Mr. Fitz Villafuarte, a business and finance blogger and the third talk was given by Mr. Maro Rimorin, a Blogger and Digital Strategist.
The first session, the talk about Google places and Mapping for business, was helpful to me personally. Not only was the talk informative; it was also interesting most especially for people who usually rely on Google maps for directions. It gives people a new and cooler way to look at Google maps at the same time gives the business oriented people a chance of putting their place or organization “on the map”.
The second session, Blogging for business, is a little more interesting than the previous one. Maybe it was because of the way it was presented or maybe just because of personal biases since I read blogs of other people that interests me. This session is really helpful not only for people who maintain blogs but also for the people who find time everyday reading blogs.

Overall, attending the Gdayx Philippines opened me to a different array of ideas in blogging, finance and business. It may have given me an idea or two of what I could do in the future.
